Douglas Meats was founded in 1979 as a family butcher and sausage shop. In 2015, Douglas Meats had changed hands to the Jans Family and has always stayed as a family business!

We have kept all the recipes from the previous families/owners, as well as added our own family recipe called the Jans Old Fashion German Sausage.

We are very proud to live in Medicine Hat and enjoy supporting our community and local businesses through fundraising. We are a smaller company but our hearts are all in it. We are a young family and hope to be able serve the community for many more years to come. Come on in and meet the family and see what we can do to “meat” all your needs.
